County Broadband Update January 2023

Latest - Just been informed that anybody ordering a connection after the 1 st February will be charged a £25 activation fee for Broadband, and a telephone package.

I was speaking with Claire at County Broadband (CB) this morning and have some good new, looks like our patience is about to be rewarded,

You may have seen CB contractors working around the village over the last few weeks, putting in the infrastructure, and I am now told that they will be ready to start making connections to houses in March (yes this year, in a couple of months)

Now that we have seen activity, I am more encouraged that this will actually start to happen now, reason being that they are now spending significant amounts of real money for the contractors work and also for the rights to use the telegraph poles and underground conduits from the likes of Openreach.

“Following our conversation, I am confirming that we are currently building the full fibre broadband network in Hilton. We plan to begin connecting residents in March 2024. In order to work and connect residents in the most efficient way, those who are still interested and wishing to order the service, I would recommend that they order now so that we can plan connections, street by street to deliver full fibre.”

Claire Proctor, County Broadband

They will be prioritising connections for people who have pre-orders in, and for those that haven’t placed an order yet, as you can see from Claires message above, it will not only benefit them for a more efficient installations but faster installations for users.

There are a couple of ways for you to place an order, either through a referral link that I can send you, which will entitle you to £50 and also me for referring you. Just send me a message and I will send you a referral link which will enable you to place an order via a web form or by telephone and earn the £50.

Or you can order directly through Claire (details below), but no £50 bonus, the choice is entirely yours.

You will see that they have added a couple more services (100Mbps and 200Mbps) since we were first approached to sign up.

County Broadband and your Gigabit voucher are currently offering,

Free high spec router (worth £150)

As usually I am happy to try and answer any questions, but please be aware that I have nothing to do with CB, but do have some knowledge and experience with Broadband generally (was/am CCC Broadband Champion).
