Queen's 90th Birthday Celebration
The Hilton Village Hall Committee are in the early stages of planning a special event to commemorate and celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday. In line with some of the national events planned we are hoping to have our own Village Street Party on Sunday 12th June so please put the date in your calendar and get ready to party in true Hilton style. The day's events currently being considered are:-
- Scarecrows – by Royal Invitation - Themed floral displays - Fancy Dress Parade – young and old - Bruce’s real steam train rides - Bring & Share Picnic/Afternoon Tea on the Green - Teas & soft drinks available - Activities for the children - Music - Illuminations - Evening fireworks
The final plan for the day has not yet been finalised but we wanted to give you all enough warning to start thinking about your floral displays/scarecrows/fancy dress costumes/illuminations – that’s got you wondering. Further information will be available shortly here and in future editions of Spectrum .

Therefore the Village Hall Committee would like to invite you all to help us decorate our village with Scarecrows, floral displays and sparkling lights with a royal theme. 2.00 pm Special Church Bell Peal calling all villagers to gather on the Village Green, Hilton 2.00 pm Picnic on the Green Bring your picnic and celebrate with family and friends on the Village Green, Hilton Strawberries & Cream, Tea and Coffee Feast Week Bar Bruce’s Train Rides Ukulele Group Children’s Activities with Museum on the Move – The Norris Museum Produce Show Plant Stall Monach Farm – Ice Cream
4.00 pm Children’s Fancy Dress Parade Judging and presentation of prizes
5.00 pm Celebration Birthday Cake Cake cutting ceremony
Scarecrows, floral displays and light sensations available to view 10th – 12th June. Lighting up time 9.30 pm each evening. Some elements of the weekend may change, timings may alter slightly and new events may be added – up-to-date information will be available on the village website (www.hilton-village.com) and on village noticeboards.
