Feast Week News March 2010

The Feast Week Committee would like to belatedly thank everyone that supported us to do battle at our ‘Quiz Night’on 30th January at the Village Hall. Unfortunately I couldn’t attend but as ever Steve was the consummate host delivering another of Neil and Jon’s fiendishly frustrating and always hugely enjoyable quizzes. The food was hearty, tasty and a welcome distraction from the brain-teasers –A big thanks to the cooks and bar staff who kept you all fed and watered! Another big thank you to the ‘movers and shakers’ who battled through the rain and flooded lanes of Hilton on 27th February to attend the ‘Feast Week Party Night’ – and to Dean of ‘Eclipse Disco, sound and lighting www.eclipsesl.co.uk who kept the ‘party-people’ moving all night. By the time that this goes to press we would have had our inaugural ‘Hilton Family Quiz’ –This event is another example of the Feast Week Committee’s commitment to providing a range of fundraising events to cater for as many Hiltonians as we can. Pictures and a write up on the event will be available on this web site.

Saturday 24th April – ‘Bavarian night with Oom-pah band and bratwurst’ If you haven’t experienced the unbridled joy that is a night with good company, good food, good beer and wine accompanied by an Oom-pah band then you are missing out on what will be one of the nights of this year’s fundraising calendar.

The ‘Bavarian Strollers’ are much more than just a band, with their stylish Bavarian sound they are bringing a ‘Bierkeller’ atmosphere to Hilton and will entertain us throughout the evening singing, amongst others, the Bavarian Drinking Song: ‘Ein prosit, ein prosit …. We’ll learn to ‘seat sway’, appreciate a polka, play team games and sing along to old favorites and much, much more. Miss it, miss out! Tickets will sell out fast at just £ 12.50 to include a ‘Bavarian Supper’ (Vegetarian option available)

The creative members of the team are currently working on the finer details of a couple of other fundraising events for your calendar. A ‘Salsa & Cocktail’ evening in May which promises to be every bit as good as the previous cocktail evening with the added ‘spice factor’ of Latin America’s hottest dance style! The ‘June Jamboree’ this year promises to be our best yet! More interactive, more fun… just plain MORE!

Due to popular demand we may, we may even squeeze in another quiz to give all those that came ‘close but no cigar’ in January a chance for revenge!

I am also happy to announce/remind all that the theme for Feast Week will be ‘Disney.’ Adults and children alike have all been charmed by the magic of Disney and will, I am sure be able to draw inspiration from all that fine body of work to put toward their floats and artwork creative contributions. Good Luck!
