MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING HELD IN THE HILTON CHAPEL at 8:00 pm ON MONDAY 18 September 2006. (Planning Meeting 07-06)

Present:       Cllrs Barradell (Chairman), Robinson, Stott, Ward and Wright.

1.         Apologies for Absence:  Apologies received from Clls, Ashby-Swain, Fleming Randall and Shardlow.

2.       To Approve The Minutes of the Planning Meeting Held on 24 JULY 2006.  The minutes were approved unanimously.

3.       Parishioners Open Session.  None.

4.         Planning Applications

a.         New House on Land Opposite Hilton Hall High Street  Application: 0602794.  The Council agreed that the latest proposals were a significant improvement over previous submissions.  The Council considered that the new house would benefit the owners, and the external appearance of the proposed house was more in harmony with the street scene.  The latest design also significantly reduced the sense of over-domination of the site exhibited by earlier submissions.  The Council recommended that this application be APPROVED.

5.         Village Hall Car Park

The cost of the one tender received (from J K Terry) had been reviewed by Cllr Fleming, as recommended by the Parish Council on 4 September, and although the price was a little over the ideal, was considered suitable at a price of £8,808.98 inclusive of VAT (£7497 without VAT).  The Clerk was to instruct J K Terry to proceed with the work quoted.

6.       Registration of The Green.

Messrs Copleys have asked for a registration fee of £30.00.  Payment of this sum was agreed and the Clerk was to seek formal approval at the October meeting of the Parish Council.

7.         Councillors’ Items.

a.            Overgrowing Hedges.  The Clerk was to ask HDC to trim overgrowing hedges along Graveley Wayand at Potton Road on the approach to Church End.

b.         Works Traffic Church Lane  The meeting noted the difficulties with construction traffic along Church Lane associated with the work on the former Roselea and agreed to keep a watching brief.
