Happy New Year to everyone and best wishes for 2014 from all the Feast week committee.

We are looking forward to a busy year with plenty of fundraising events with quizzes etc to raise the funds needed to stage the main event which is Feast week, in the first week of the school summer holidays, all free of charge to come along to. Some of the events that we hold are not always primarily for fundraising, because we as a committee feel it is nice to host these events for the community and most of all the children. We held a children’s Christmas party in the village hall with Santa and his helpful elves in the grotto handing out presents to every child which was wonderful. There was a disco (many thanks to Dean and Karen) playing Christmas songs and games including the Oke Cokee which the adults all enjoyed too! Many thanks for all the committee helping with the refreshments and mulled wine, and for Santa coming at such a busy time too.

We are also planning an Easter egg hunt on Easter Saturday 19 th April so save the date for fun for all the family and plenty of chocolate too!

Many thanks to everyone who attended the quiz in November, the quiz questions were entertaining and some were challenging as always, cleverly masterminded by Emma and Craig .  The teams were as competitive as ever with a lovely curry halfway through to enjoy, so many thanks to the committee for all their hard work.

Our next Quiz night will be on 22 nd FEBRUARY2014, starting at 7.30pm in the village hall. Please contact Gill Gill by phone or email below to book your tables of 8, to ensure fair competition! The ticket price is £10 per person, which can be paid to Gill by cash or cheque, which is superb value for a lovely chilli and rice plus a vegetarian option, with great entertainment from your quiz masters Brian and Nina. We are offering a discount on your quiz tickets if you buy them early before the event for only £8! So a great incentive to get your team organised now! There will as always be a fully stocked Bar to support Feast week, and nibbles too.

The last  Summer Ball Committee 2012,have approached Feast Week committee to offer to organise a Summer Ball on 25 th July 2014,  and tickets will be offered  to residents in our villages initially, as the maximum is 300 people with 10 per table.  Tickets cost £50 as before which is great value for a Ball, and will be available from Peter Sampson and Ett McCarthy in the next few months, with a £15 deposit to secure your table.

Lastly, I’d like to say thank-you to all of the Feast Week committee who have worked hard, to pull all this together for our community. We as a village are so lucky to have such a great events for everyone to enjoy, so please come along to support our Feast Week events.
