Public Consultation on Minerals & Waste Plan – Additional Sites

URGENT- PLEASE EXPRESS YOUR VIEWS
Land owners and developers have proposed a number of additional sites for Borrow Pits and Waste Recycling in response to the previous Mineral & Waste Consultation in October 2008. These sites are being considered as extraction and recycling sites along the route of proposed A14 redevelopment for use during construction phase. Borrowpits are used to extract material such as gravel for construction projects.
Four of these sites would be close to Hilton:-
Oxholme Farm - Site 59, on road from Hilton to Fenstanton – this is the farm where you can buy fruit
Woolpack Farm - Sites 60, 135 and 136 near Galley Hill A14/B1040 junction
(Click on map for larger version)

If all the sites are put into operation, together with another site extending between B1040 and Hilton Road and put forward in the October 2008 Consultation, these workings will extend from west of B1040 across to Hilton Road and will occupy a considerable tract of land just ¾ mile from Hilton.

Effects on Hilton may include noise, dust, truck movements, visual intrusion and the likelihood that there will be applications to extend the use of the sites after A14 road has been built.
